It took me a long time to see a way of making a Cover Versions prints series. It seemed not interesting, a backwards step, in that it appeared to be simply returning to its original album cover state. Once that I realised that I could use the photographs I had taken as the basis for further development I felt that it was yet another step away from the original (which is of course itself a reproduction).

The evidence of painting can readily be seen in the majority of the images, evidence of surface texture, brush marks etc. I improvised ,'played', with them in Photoshop Some, 'Ornette's Vortex' or 'Long Way From Leroy' ended up very different from the starting point while in some others 'Polka Dots & Moonbeams' the changes are more subtle

the prints are available in one size 225x225mm that relates to recorded format – slightly larger than a CD.
